Tuning is in D*. (lowD,A,D,F#,A,D) (Drop the low E down two steps (a tone), comparing it to the sound of the 4th string, the D string. Drop high e down a tone comparing it to the two D strings you now have. Drop the 2nd String, B, down two steps to make it an A. Compare this to the 5th string which is an A. Finally, drop the G string down just one step (a semitone) to make it an F#/Gb. The 4th fret on the 4th string will give you the same note for you to compare.) *First half of record version is tuned a step lower. (lowC#,G#,C#,F,G#,C#) *Live at brighton is tuned a step higher (lowD#,A#,D#,G,A#,D#) This tab begins at the second section of the song, after the tuning shifts up a step. The intro uses all open strings. For the major chords you can lay your finger right across, but Panda doesn't do this. He uses his thumb on the lower two strings, and index finger on the high three, muting the 4th string. At first this seems weird, but it does mean less movement when changing into the minor shape. For the minor chords, your thumb will hold the bass note, then, going from the highest string, you will use your pinky, ring, index and middle. A diagram might help. ______ where t = thumb |||||| x = muted |||i|| m = middle finger txm|rp i = index finger |||||| r = ring finger p = pinky, or little finger The two B7 chords have different shapes. The one nearer the nut is played with your index and middle finger. Your index finger should be muting the high d string, too. The higher B7 chord is played with your thumb on the 6th string, middle on the fourth string, and ring on the 1st string. This is completely accurate, guys. Hope you enjoy it.
